So, notice anything different?

Changing blog templates is not unlike flirting with a new hairstyle some days. I have been itching to shake things up lately and this template is one of the few that catches my eye. I give you fair warning I will be playing with it in the days to come, making small adjustments until I am happy with it. Feel free to toss any comments my way!

Not a bad way to end the week.

It has been a late night. Together with family we went to a local carnival and movie in the park event, which was hosted by the parents association of the local school. The little ones had a blast in the various bouncers and pretty much wore themselves out. Naturally the outdoor movie screen is not that good for viewing in daylight, and the fact that this is pretty close to one of the longest days of the year, this meant that a late night was had by all. No one fell asleep durring the movie anyway - I think the loud volumn was a deterent in that regard. But everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and even the kids could shake off the tired grumps long enough to giggle at the sillines of the movie characters on the way home.

It finally feels like summer

I was going to open this post with some fantastically witty remark about how time flies when you're having fun / crazy busy etc. Then I realised it would sound pretty much like any other long delayed posting attempting a witty opening. To be honest my head isn't quite on straight so I'll change tactics while I'm not too far behind. Last night was not the best night for sleep so if I ramble or change thoughts mid stream you understand why.

After what has seemed like weeks of west coast type weather the sun has finally come out! And I look semi lobsterish already, such a lovely start to the season. Some family and I went for a long rambling bike ride on the weekend - hense the rosy hue and mozzie bites on my part. (As near as I can tell I was the only one afflicted with this). What really suprises me in this highly populated town is the lack of other people out doing the same. The paths were not totaly bare. We came across other people walking their dogs or riding their bikes but for the most part it was pretty quiet. The picnic areas were nearly deserted. So is everyone making a mad dash out of town after theses soggy weeks? Or are they indoors blissfully unaware as they attempt to master the next level on their x-box? Hmm... I'm thinking xbox probably doesn't have a hyphen which goes to show just how out of touch I am with the gaming industry in general. I expect the general exodus that comes at the start of June every year when we get flooded with tourists and visitors.

At least I can enjoy the paths and the parks without getting run over. And I will probably be doing that a lot more as the season progresses.
